Could I have juvenile diabetes?
i am 11 years old and haven't been feeling my best at all lately. i have nationals for softball coming up really soon and i want to make sure im ok. I have been researching juvenile diabetes and found that i have most, if not all of the symptoms associated.
-I have to go to the bathroom a lot
-i am always hungry
-i get flu-like symptoms at night
-i feel tingling sensations in my hands and mostly my right foot
-I am losing weight
-i am always tired and dizzy
(and these are just a few)
diabetes is an autoimmune disease, right? i am also having a lot of trouble fighting off my bronchitis...i dont know if that has anything to do with this, though.
please tell me if i may have diabetes so i can get screened. Thanks for any help!

It's possible that you have type 1 (juvenile) diabetes, which is an auto-immune disease. I was diagnosed about 2 weeks ago. The symptoms I had included extreme hunger, extreme thirst, excessive urination, weight loss, tiredness, blurred vision, and frequent throat infections (tonsilitis and strep). You should go see your doctor and get tested for diabetes. They'll do a few blood tests and probably test your blood sugar as well. Good luck at nationals!
