21 year old Diabetic, High Cholesterol?

my cholesterol has been running 220 lately...I am 21 years old, fit and thin. I am Diabetic which is the main reason I am having high cholesterol. I am currently on Provacol and I try to watch my diet. Are there certain foods that could help my cholesterol go down? I have read that a glass of wine at night helps against heart disease in women (since i do have diabetes, i am at high risk from what i hear). Just asking for some advice on the subject. : ) I have had diabetes for 14 years, so I am starting to see a few effects.

It is the opinion of many doctors that 220 total cholesterol isn't even high. Your true health status can't be measured by your cholesterol level.The problem of eliminating foods such as egg yolks and liver and butter are that they are VERY good for your brain and nervous system.
You need to examine the side effects of pravachol very carefully. There is substantial scientific evidence that statin medications can be far worse for you than high cholesterol.
