gestational diabetes, loss weight,please help?
i m 27 weeks pregnant now with my 1st child and have gestational diabetes since 4 weeks, my doctor put me on diet, i m on diet since 2 weeks and 4 days, blood sugar is in control, today i visited my doctor and she told me that i lost 3 pounds weight in 2 weeks since i started diet plan,
i m very worried about my baby, anyone has this situation ?
please help me, what should i do? if you have this situation then what yours doctor tell you to do ?

i have gestational diabetes , not Type 2 Diabetes, i had diabetes test in my 1st month of pregnancy and it was negative,
i went for glucose tolerance test in my 23 weeks and this test became positive,
now i m loosing weight, 3 pound lost in 2 weeks,what is ur experience?
i m 5'1 and prepregnancy weight was 104 pound, now at 27th weeks of pregnancy it is 120 pound
Well hon, if you've had GD since 4 weeks of pregnancy, I hate to tell you, it's not GD, it's full-blown diabetes. Next, if you were overweight to begin with, losing some weight when you are eating healthy and on a diabetic diet is fine. I went into my second pregnancy weighing about 200 pounds (I'm also 5'10) and delivered that baby weighing about 185. I am insulin-dependent diabetic and between making sure I ate the optimum food and kept a close watch on my sugars and insulin levels, it was fine. Your OB should have you seeing an Endocrinologist, even though they are still wanting to call your diabetes gestational at this point. If not, ask her to refer you to one. You'll need him/her after you deliver. Best wishes for a healthy pregnancy.
EDIT: Okay, sorry, from your original posting, it appeared that you had GD since you were 4weeks pregnant, meaning that you likely had a glucose test along with your first positive pregnancy test.
